PNC is proud to celebrate and support veteran-owned businesses

This November, PNC is celebrating Veterans Small Business Month. It’s a time for us to put veteran-owned businesses in the spotlight and to say “thank you” for all you’ve done and continue to do. We are showing our appreciation by offering a special opportunity for you to join us for a live, free and educational video webcast with Mike Durant, the man behind the real-life story of Black Hawk Down, the New York Times best-selling author of In the Company of Heroes, the successful entrepreneur and business owner — and the 2013 Vetrepreneur of the Year..

Durant offers a fast-paced look at the similarities between business operations and U.S. Special Operations — including an overview of the fundamentals this unique organization uses to help its people perform to their fullest potential.

Additional topics include:

  • Why organizational effectiveness and the role of leaders in taking responsibility for short-term and long-term success are important to your business
  • How providing proper resources, processes, procedures, training, planning, and continuous assessment at the organizational and individual levels can be beneficial

Durant highlights how these elements are integral to any organization’s success, and uses a U.N. mission in Somalia as a case study. He also discusses lessons learned and how they can be applied to all organizations. Durant is currently the president and CEO of Pinnacle Solutions, an engineering services company he started that employs 80% veterans. The webcast concludes with a Q&A.
